Dear President Obama;
I am writing to offer my congratulations on your winning of the Nobel Peace prize!
It is a great day for you, your family, and your country, and the honor your winning brings is shared by the world as well.

You stated today that you would donate the prize money to charity, and I commend you for this philanthropic effort.

I would like to take this opportunity to nominate for your consideration the Central Asia Institute. As I am certain you are aware they were founded by Greg Mortenson who was taken in by the kind villagers in the Karakoram region of Pakistan after a particularly grueling attempt to climb K2, the second highest peak in the world.
As gratitude for saving his life, and in recognition of their kindness, Mr. Mortenson dedicated his life to building schools for the girls of the remote villages of Pakistan and more recently Afghanistan. His efforts, and those of the Central Asia Institute have been chronicled in the wonderful book entitled "3 Cups of Tea".

An endowment to the Central Asia Institute would send all of the right messages to the world, and most particularly the peoples of that war torn region, that your heart is in the right place when it comes to your desire to see the best possible outcomes for the people who inhabit those inhospitable regions. It would also effectively silence the detractors who have stated openly, but incorrectly that you are undeserving of the award.

Think of it Mr. President, you could win hearts and minds of Afghani and Pakistani villagers, and put egg on the face of Rush Limbaugh! I ask you Sir; What other gift could keep on giving like this?

I would like to extend my congratulations again, and thank you for considering my proposal.

Sincerely;
Timothy F. Sharp

Another installment of Why I live in Western Montana!
A twilight image looking down stream from the eddy below the Cyr Bridge. I had gone down to the river right from work, fished till almost dark and caught several large rainbows, and one very beautiful 19 inch cutthroat!

This twilight shot was taken walking back to the car of the moon rising over the Cyr Bridge.
